Last night Angus Morrison E.S celebrated their grade 8 graduation. Hollywood Lights was the theme and trust me it was the glitziest, most glamorous event in Angus in a long time! No detail went un noticed. From the backstage access "VIP only" door entrance, to the velvet rope and red carpet, to each kids walk of fame star, and a beautiful hollywood hills mural. I can't forget the paparazzi pit and a hallway of under the stars. The kids worked incredibly hard to bring the aura of Hollywood to our little school. Congratulations to the class of 2016. May the World now be your own movie script, to write and portray in your best light going forward.
Well chalk another one up as a win. The 2015/2016 school year has come to an end. I am happy to report this year has been both challenging and successful right to the end. I have happily watched this particular group of kids grow insurmountably in the past year. They have learnt how to manage stress, appropriately deal with conflict, communicate their needs and effectively apply increasing confidence and maturity to a variety of situations. I am so proud of each and everyones' personal growth along the way. Last night Angus Morrison E.S celebrated their grade 8 graduation. Classrooms were dedicated to Old Hollywood Stars The graduates drew their own rendition of these stars. Their pictures turned out amazing! Take a walk down the red carpet! Don't forget to check out the Angus Walk of Fame. Students created their own "touristy" green-screen photo and included their favourite movie quotes. A beautiful Hollywood Hills mural, really created the atmosphere that we were in Californiam under the bright lights for real! What would a red carpet be without your very own Paparazzi Pit?! Strike a pose and SMILE!!! Lights, Camera, ACTION!!! Come on into the SHOW . . . . I would like to Thank the Academy for all their hardwork to pull such an amazing event like this off. It takes a team . . or a movie crew! Congrats!!!!
For Four years a kindergarten teacher at Angus Morrison School has passionately planted, and maintained a make shift green space on our school premises. Ms Sternberg dedicates hours after school and on weekends to make the green space beautiful. Our Intermediate students noticed her hard work and wanted too document her passion project as apart of their own Genius hour presentation. In a matter of a few weeks they were able to research, interview and document the gardens growth. Hopefully showing this video to classes in the future will promote awareness, understanding and respect for this space in our learning environment and create a healthy ecosystem for future generations. Please check out the video below.
Copeland Class worked really hard using technology to capture our selfie faces and then art mediums to recreate our personal portraits. Super proud of the detail and hard work that went into these. Can you guess your classmate??
